NABLUS & SEBASTIA

Al-Muqaddasi, an Arab geographer, worked in Nablus in the 10th century. Drawing on its rich history and prominence as a trading centre, Al-Muqaddasi recognised the importance of Nablus and paid homage to it by referring to it as "Little Damascus". His writings vividly depict the city's splendour, domes and minarets, gardens and orchards. Al-Muqaddasi's observations provide valuable insight into the region's history and culture, allowing us to understand the city's legacy and importance even today. Nablus has remained a vibrant city through the ages, and its heritage has been cherished from generation to generation, bringing us invaluable insight into the past.

By exploring the city, we can see how deeply embedded its legacy is in the present, and how it stands as a testament to the enduring power of Palestinian cultural inheritance. This tour reminds travellers of the power of storytelling, how it can illuminate the beauty of a place, and the necessity of preserving its history.
