JERICHO

Jericho has long been a major site for archaeological exploration, with its history and discoveries providing valuable insight into the evolution of Canaanite culture and ancient civilisations. Excavations have revealed the city's earliest settlement to date back to 8000 BC, and artefacts have been found that range from the Neolithic period through to the Iron Age, with the remains of walls, tombs, palaces and other structures providing a rich insight into the city's past.

From the ruins of the ancient city of Tell al-Sultan to the churches, palaces, and mosques built during the Ottoman period, this tour offers an incredible opportunity to explore the historical splendour, cultural heritage, and breathtaking scenery of Jericho. It also provides an understanding of the local community's current political and socio-economic issues as they continue to fight for the right to remain on their ancestral lands. Participants will have tea with Palestinian farmers and listen to their stories about the struggles to keep their land from confiscation. This allows a deeper insight into the complex reality of Palestinians, enabling people to comprehend better the motivations behind their struggles and their dedication to their cause.
